accepted the position of Artistic Director.
Mr. Lloyd has worked with many of the area’s smaller theaters, and has extensive knowledge of the Seattle theater scene. In recent years at Theater Schmeater, Mr. Lloyd has directed such productions as The Reluctant Dragon, The Wind and the Willows (presented at Volunteer Park) and the 2009 smash hit production of Arthur Miller’s seldom seen The Creation of the World, and Other Business. He has also directed with such companies as Open Circle Theater, 14/48, The Driftwood Players, Theater Under the Influence, Theater Babylon.
Mr. Lloyd received his training at Moorhead State University in Minnesota, and continued by attending the famed Second City Training Center in Chicago. A skilled actor, Mr. Lloyd has performed on many of the area’s stages, and has considerable experience in screen acting.
“We are all very excited that JD is joining our team,” said Managing Director Teri Lazzara. “I’m sure he’ll make a valuable contribution in all our efforts here at The Schmee!”
Mr. Lloyd is scheduled to direct Theater Schmeater’s fall show, which is still to be determined.
